Beta2Stroke Help out a dumb-dumb - 2020 sachs ZF forks

Recommended Posts

Sorry if there is already a good explanation here somewhere but I have tried the search and google with not much luck.

Can someone explain to me what the preload adjustment does on the right fork leg on my 2020 300rr and what turning it CW vs CCW does? In the italian with english subtitles video beta has it sounds like it's to adjust for someone who is heavier or to raise the front for riding in soft terrain like sand?

 Preload sets the 'sag' of the suspension. You want approximately 30% compression with the rider on the bike.  If you can't get that number, your fork springs (and consiquently the shock spring) are the wrong weight. Alwasy start with setting the rear sag first to know if the rates are good or bad.   25/100 to 30/105 is what you are trying to get.

CW = Clock wise

CCW = Counter clock wise

Thanks for the reply. Makes sense about setting sag, I had only ever heard of setting sag in the rear.

When I asked about cw vs ccw I meant what does turning the adjuster clockwise vs counterclockwise do? ie. do you turn it clockwise to put more preload on the suspension?
