2021 GasGas EX 300

The 2021 GasGas EC 300 is an enduro with lights and the 2021 GasGas EX 300 stripped down cross country race machine. What are the differences between the two 2021 GasGas models?

1.  WP Xact fork on the EX 300 (shared w/ the MX versions) while the EC 300 gets an enduro focused Xplor fork. Both models feature the WP Xact shock with linkage.

2. EC 300 is 12lbs. more than the EX 300 (lighting among other things).

3. EX 300  uses Brembo brakes vs. Braktec hydraulics found on the EC 300.

3. Maxxis MaxxEnduro tires on the EC 300 and race ready Dunlop Geomax AT81 on the EX300.

GasGas will be serious about off-road racing in the coming year, according to KTM Marketing & Group Media Manager Tom Moen:

Quote

“Geoff Aaron became the GasGas North America Off-Road Race Team Manager who oversees the Trial and Off-Road racing activities for GasGAs, and is pleased to work with GasGas Coastal Factory Racing Team and their Team Manager Barry Hawk as they prepare to race GNCC and National Enduro in 2021.”

GasGas doesn't exist anymore, they went bellyup quite some time ago.  KTM bought the name, now they market red KTMs.  Not exactly earth shattering news.

If you liked the original Gasgas platform you can always get a Rieju.

If I were to drink the Kool Aid I would probably go with this model it is a sharp looking bike.

Don't they specialize in mopeds?

Why didn't they pick a color not already used by Honda and beta ? What's up with the different brakes ? I feel like the price should be about 600$ less then maybe they could sell a few. How many years will gas gas last? How much would it have to cost for you to buy one new instead of the ktm

I think Beta is still trying to figure out what color they want to be.

There are not a lot of primary colors. Red was used by Yamaha in the 70s and 80s as well.

My KTM dealer said they are KTMs with some cheaper controls (brakes, clutch, etc.) and of course Bold New Graphics.
They are priced a bit less than KTM. In theory, Husqv are just KTM with more expensive controls and Bold New Graphics.

I never could figure out what was supposed to be the difference between a Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Buick.
Caddy vs Chevy made sense, but the middle ones seemed all the same.

I'd be more impressed with the GasGas KTMs if they were a bunch cheaper. Current KTMs are about $10,000 before you add the stuff that they forget to include in "Ready to Race". Its easy to find that the real OTD price is $13K or more. That is a lot of money for a dirt bike for a lot of people.
