Recommended Posts

We had a great ride in Lone Pine, CA, Cerro Gordo Mines Trail. Here are some pictures and videos. Thanks to Gary, Alan and Stephanie. This is part 1 from Diaz Campground to bottom of the mountain. Later, I will post  top of the mountain where there is the salt tram then the actual Cerro Cordo Mine then on the way down. Great ride!!

Here is the first video.

Thanks for posting, Randy.  Stephanie and I had a great time.  Too bad the weather turned nasty and we couldn’t hit Bishop.  Next time.

Part 2 video and pictures. We reached the top of the mountain. Visited the salt tram, workers’ housing, and then headed down the trail to Cerro Gordo mining town. It was closed so workers didn’t want us walking around the property but we took a few pictures. At end of the video is where the Cerro Gordo gondola bucket line ended.

Thank you for the great pics and ride report- gives me flashbacks to the good old days of tt when there was more of this, and less pissing.

Been meaning to hit that area... not sure about tents in the first week of November though.❄️

You nailed the tent part, lol. Trip was scheduled 4 weeks earlier but with the forest closed right up to that weekend it got moved back.

Mojave reds. Them’s good drinking! 😂

Yep.  I had the red, I was driving.  My little one went for the triple IPA (9.5 ABV).

That looks like a great trip!  I didn't know the owner of Cerro Gordo let people up there.  He's got a really cool YouTube channel where he explores all the mines up there.  It's crazy how deep in he goes.
