I have heard interviews with well-known porn actors who got paid well for having crazy sex with beautiful women...saying that they often disliked their job and the stress it could cause.  Now if those guys get burnout with an occupation then anybody can get burnout.

You gotta do shot after shot, it's a grind like any other. And porn chicks look hot on camera but have you ever smelled one?

Its hard to believe you go and hermit for 10 days every summer with no contact with anyone or anything. I see you with your tongue hanging out going through the drive through at McDonald's 🤣oh and Fox smells its own hole.

I actually sold beer for 20 years and it was great for most of them, especially in my 20s  but I got completely burned out. Between managing people too not going into any of the bars or restaurants that were inside our territory after hours because every time I did it became work. My ex wanted to go to our local pub one night, I wasn’t feeling it but decided to go anyway, she knew how I felt, as soon as I stepped into the place the owner was in my ear for 20 minutes talking about work related crap. She hadn’t served us a drink yet either. My ex looks right at her and says, I see why you didn’t want to come in here. Owner then realized what was going on a shut up for the rest of the night.

So I try not too take my hobbies too seriously if possible.

Guys complaining about work burnout, lol.

Plate walk asphalt 10 hour a day for 10 years and then I’ll consider feeling bad for you.

You can get mental burnout as well as physical

I've worked in the NHS for 30 years,it's so draining dealing with management and constant change with no obvious reasoning

There always that guy, my job is way worse than yours, it all relative. sounds like you should have chosen another line of work after retiring for racing.

Why would I have picked a different career? The asphalt business has treated my family pretty good.

Maybe my attitude is different than most, when you go through work burnout, you go to the lake for a week and regroup. Then you go back to work and get shit done.

I really don’t understand someone who flies planes for a living being unhappy with their career when guys dig ditches for a living

A good friend of mine flew an airbus, before that flew tankers and some recon plane for the military. He had a stroke and can no longer fly, he would give up most things to be able to fly that plane again. A ditch digger isn’t begging to go back to work after an illness

EDIT: No offense to the dude who flies, I’m just using you as an example. I get everyone get mentally burnout

maybe you could spend time trying to understand how others can think differently regarding life choices ? We all have our own beliefs

I was watching the asphalt guys last summer, it was about 110F and I was thinking to myself, I'm damned glad that's not my job.  But there is a reason I don't do that.  When all my highschool friends were skipping class to smoke weed in the parking lot I was in class.  When they were screwing around I was doing homework.  I sold my bike, took out huge loans (because even then white males had little financial assistance in STEM fields) and got a college degree.  It's not how you get rich, but it's how I broke out of extreme poverty.  Neither parent even had a diploma.  Now of course the irs wants me to supplement the income of everyone out in the parking lot smoking dope.
