2004 YZ450F - Retired supermoto race bike that now does desert duty.  Holed the radiator during a failed hill climb.  Managed a field repair with a deep socket as a hose coupler and a 2-stroke spark plug to do the plugging...

Replaced a fork seal.  First time messing with a SSS fork.  Very interesting piece.  Added bar risers, and narrowed the bars 1".

Swingarm and Linkage bearing service. The swingarm could easily go a year, but the linkage and lower shock bearing probably need serviced twice per year. My bike is 2 years old and the stock seals and bearings look good, no play in the shock bearing yet, which has been the weakest link on my past bikes.

New graphics kit from https://cormotographics.com/.  I still have to put on the swing arms and fork guards but I'm pretty much complete.

 

2017 YZ450FX street legal.  The perfect bike for everything - trails, dual sport, mx.

Here's what I did to my 21 before the weekend and round 1 of NORCS

New bars and a little more seat time on the '00 426 before I pull the right case cover off to find out just where that new "clackity clack" racket is coming from.. Suspected loose balancer drive gear/key.

Upgrades & fixes:

• New Tusk handguards because one of the old Acerbis ones exploded in the last enduro.
• 2 teeth larger rear sprocket
• Straightened bent radiator (bent in last enduro)
• Swapped to Honda front brake assembly. (caliper, hose and master cyl).  The stock front brake is terrible.  I have not ridden with it yet, but the lever feel is night and day.

I added the IMS 2.5 gal tank and a new seat cover for the required seat modification.  I am expecting to get around 60 miles on this tank with stock maps and riding mostly single track.

60 miles is all WTF, I have the 2.2 gal on my 2020 450FX and fully expect to get 75+ out of a tank... and that's pushing hard

I would as well, I can get over 60 miles on my stock tank on my 16 450FX.

Hmm.  I'm going to have to make a general thread and ask for peoples experience, thanks for bringing this up to my attention.

It's not.  I ride pretty far up on the bike sometimes and I didn't even notice it this weekend on my two rides.

Switched to Evans Waterless coolant

Added linkage guard to my skid plate

Tons of fasteners replaced

and a new vented kit to ride in for the summer.

After having to wait out 3 weeks of rain every day, I took it out last Monday to test and it was awesome!
