A hydraulic one at that which I find hilarious as they outright refuse to put one on any of their gas bikes. A clutch is used for a lot more than changing gears. It could have one but it does not need it. Some implementations use a "clutch" to save battery drain I think and maybe for other reasons. I am pretty sure the Alta Redshift didn't have a clutch. Lotta guys do a secondary drive sprocket on E motor setups to off set this. Edited December 16, 2020 by 777654321

Do you know if the Alta motor had internal gear reduction? Edit: Nevermind, it did. Quote The Redshift's motor weighs 15lbs and pushes power through a 3.5:1 gear reduction. OUTERLIMITS Posted December 16, 2020 It's just someone Macgivering something together. Are they supposed to build a motorcycle from scratch just to test an electric motor?
indy rider My Rides (2) Posted December 16, 2020 It has reverse! "SSE Sires Systems Engineering...October 12 · Quick status update, it runs and rides! Working through the Sevcon programming has been the biggest challenge so far, and I feel there is still a lot of room for improvement. Having reverse on a motocross bike is also pretty wild! More pics, video, and details coming soon."
