Seems like Stewart vs Dungey.  Herlings vs Glajser, same thing.

Not really tim crashes more than most ,dungey didn't

In reality, Gajser crashes more than Herlings but bounces like a rag doll and never gets hurt.

IMO Dungey never really pushed the edge..

if you take second place in every moto, your likely to win the championship. as he did... ( but deep down you know there was one faster at every moto )

Dungey is the second winningest 450 rider, he didn’t get a whole lot of seconds

Outside of RV, he was the fastest guy.

Yea, it’s funny how everyone thinks he was always second, or didn’t push it.

He pushed the edge a lot with RV, but he is naturally a smooth rider so he didn’t look ragged.

Even if he dud always finish second ,no one else could do it , most can't hardly touch second more than a few times ,it was his average finish

AC and herlings are not close to that

I looked at it like Dungey rode his race and most times he was the fastest or one of the fastest out there. And he would stick to the plan. Takes a lot of discipline to do that.

In 2011 as the reigning 450 SX champ, RD won 1 SX main.  He came in 2nd 6 times.  3rd 6 times.

2012 - 4 wins* 3 2nds, 2 3rds.  *(2 of the wins once RV was out & had already wrapped the title).  RD missed 5 rounds.

2013 - 2 wins, 4 2nds, 6 3rds.

2014 - 1 win, 4 2nds, 5 3rds

Are those bad results?  No. But the people that say he was "always" 2nd....well, they probably remember the RV era quite a bit.  And it's more accurate to say he was "always" 3rd because RD had more 3rd place finishes than anything else during RV's run.

2011 - 2014 SX summary:  8 wins - 17 2nds - 19 3rds.

Let’s include outdoors and go from 10-17.

Not saying the guy didn't have a great career overall.  8x National champion.

But RD was getting it put to him in SX by RV for 4 years in a row.  2 of those years RD came in 3rd, beat by Millsaps who nobody hardly mentions anymore.  It's not as out of line as you make it out to be, for the people that would say he "always" came in 2nd.  He wasn't doing much winning during that span 2011 - 2014 span in SX, vs the amount of 2nds and 3rds.

It's 4 SX seasons in a row, it's a significant chunk of his career.

I need to keep a list of all of the different "teams" we have in TT Pro.  Because depending on the subject, the allies and enemies groups end up being quite different LOL.

How boring would this place be if we all agreed, all the time?

Everyone was getting second to RV. He got third to Millsaps because he missed races with a broken collarbone.

Another factor, he was on bad equipment  for 4 of those years
