Raphael Cutlack Posted January 14 Hey guys only the orange backlight is coming on the speedometer when turning the bike on, all signal lights are working just no readings on the speedometer. Does anyone know if this is something worth trying to fix or am I just better off getting trailtech? Thanks.
bumtarder My Rides (3) Posted January 14 You can try to gently wiggle the cable at the back where it enters the case and see if the cluster illuminates. Sometimes the case can be separated and there will be a broken wire or solder joint that can be repaired and then the case carefully resealed. These clusters do not handle the elements well. They are known to be troublesome.

bumtarder My Rides (3) Posted January 14 (edited) Here is old threads on it; https://thumpertalk.com/forums/topic/338615-any-tips-on-repairing-speedometer/ https://thumpertalk.com/forums/topic/359985-my-dashboard-died/ Also look carefully for corrosion on the circuit board. Sometimes it can be cleaned successfully. Edited January 14 by bumtarder
Raphael Cutlack Posted January 14 I had a solid look to see if I could see and crack solder or loose wires but cannot. There is a couple of wires going to a connection not plugged into anything, I though that would be to obvious so I tried to find where they would plug into or a wiring diagram that would tell but couldn’t. Can anyone tell me from the photo what those two wires go to?
bumtarder My Rides (3) Posted January 14 (edited) That is for a optional remote tripmeter reset button that mounts to the handlebar. Not likely anything to do with your issue imho. Look for corrosion on the circuit board. Edited January 14 by bumtarder
