Casting flaws in head

A buddy of mine took the head off his neighbour's 426 to clean up casting flaws. He was saying there are a lot of casting flaws in the head and mentioned we should do this to my bike. Has anyone else noticed lots of casting flaws in the head? Are there significant performance gains to be made by cleaning them up?

Thanks in advance,
