fork question

I have a 2001 DRZ400s that was hit by a car. The thing is hurtin and both forks need replacement. I am looking for a used set of forks but can't seem to find any. Does anyone know if forks from any other motorcycle will fit on this bike. (RM?) If so, what years and how hard is the swap? I already assume the klx400 forks will work. Anyone ever replaced their forks? Anyone have any ideas on where to get a set that will work? Any help would be great.

you could check a motorcycle bone yard, stockers in San Diego, search the web for other bone yards, Ebay.

As for what will fit, don't know that one, measure the diameter of the tubes and the overall length of the fork...as long as they're the same fit for the triple clamps and the same length, any fork will work.

RM forks will work and a couple people on here have done this but I don't know what years. I'm assuming the later models.

96-98 RM forks will fit just fine ?

I've got some 2001 S forks in good condition I'll sell you for a decent price. I upgraded to some re-valved E forks. Well worth the money for off-road... but obviously more expensive because of higher demand. I'll send you a PM.

Yes, 1996-1998 RM 125 and 250 forks (the only difference is springs) will bolt up directly to the wheel and triple clamps not affecting offset. ?
