CRF100 Chain/Sproket help

Recommended Posts

Why can't I find any listing for chain and sproket combos for a '04 CRF100?

I want to change the rear sproket (I want faster speed in each gear). What rear sproket size is stock, and what should I go with?

I have an '02 xr 100 which is identical (pretty sure) The stock tooth count is 14 front 50 back with 428 chain and 118 links (on mine anyway)The highest front sprock i have seen is 15 and i'm not sure about the back. I went to www.denniskirk.com (only place that carried 'em that i could find online) and bought a new chain and sprockets... big mistake the total came to $70 but the whole set wore out in a month with good care! I'd highly suggest ordering from your honda dealer mine cost $92 for an oem set. As much as i hate to order from honda the chain an sprocks are holding up great, As far as i have seen there are NO good non-oem chain and sprockets for the xr 100/crf 100. You can check specs at www.hondamotorcycles.com or www.bikebandit.com, hope this helps  - P.S. stay away from R.K Tanksasgo chain and welcome to the world of xr/crf100 its almost impossible to find any sort of non o.e.m. part from any place online.

Check the Sprocket Specialists site HERE

Sunstar makes a good durable steel sprocket, for both the countershaft and the rear wheel. Most times, the factories use Sunstar sprockets, they do not manufacture their own.

I dont know about sunstar, that's the brand i ordered after my original ones from the factory wore down (lasted a year) the sun star sprocks/ R.K. Tank chain didnt last long. But that's just what i have been through. I also know how to properley maintain a chain.
