Anyone here cracked their cylinder skirt?

The latest MXA has a picture of a cracked skirt on page 134, October 2004 issue.

When asked in the MX Experts column if its true that CRF250's blow up, the reply begins, "Yes, it's true."

Is this a problem, and if so, do these bikes blow up more so than other bikes?

I replaced one for a customer, his was broken. Though it was caused by the piston skirt first? Anyway, after replacing the piston & cylinder, crankshaft,timing chain, oil pump and repairing the cases it was good to go.

Had the wifey-poo's cylinder out checking/replacing rings after the RH Intake valve went South.. :devil:

The interior cylinder surface/cross-hatching looked great -- the cylinder skirt looked just fine. :thumbsup:
