Altitude jetting

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

My bike is running well at 100', 90-95 degrees with 60+% humidity, 92 octane and a 175 main. Taking it to Colorado and will be riding between 5000 and 12000'. I picked up a 162 and a 168 main (175 x .92= 161), and am thinking that the 162 will be a good general started point. Am I on the right track here? I think most of the gas up there is lower octane. I'm also installing a "quiet core" insert in my Dr.D pipe, and was wondering if that will make the bike run richer.

In Colorado the 8000-12000ft elevations will be much colder than what you're used to. Expect 50-70F and figure a little richer (maybe a #168?).

The quiet core will make the bike a little richer and will not let it rev as well. Make your best guess and adjust as needed.

James
