ttr shifter shaft!!

Recommended Posts

My youngest son has a ttr=90 and while out ridding yesterday he came around a conner and cliped a tree!! his shifter took most of the hit and it broke clean off flush with the back of the shifter!What has to be done in order to fix it?I thought about drilling a 6mm hole in the shaft and in the piece that broke off and then tapping and puttin a stud inthe shaft and turnning the piece on and trying to weld a bead to hold it!Maybe hold ice on the shaft to keep it somewhat cool where it gos into the case.Any other ideas?

:thumbsup::lol::D:devil::awww:

Well we took it apart and waiting on parts! my next ? is does any body make a shifter that folds on the end like bigger bikes do? Maybe this wont happen again!

Yes, Engines Only does, but after bending my shiftshaft twice, you realize that the linkage is there to reinforce the shaft b/c it sticks out so far. I have the BBR frame kit and I feel that I am unfortunate to have no alternative but to use a direct shift lever.
