Dents in rims?

Recommended Posts

I noticed a fair while ago that I have a fairly good size dent in my front and rear rims right near where the tire joins. Do you guys think I should hammer them back wiht a runbber mallett or something when I change tires or just leave them. They've been there a while now and no problems with losing air or anything. (Got a tube eh!!)

What do you think!

I have one as well on the front rim. It flares outward, hinting I hit something hard going a bit too fast. Doesn't affect the bead of the tire, so no real worries on my part other than aesthetics.

Would be interested in a good way to remove the dent as well. I was thinking a rubber mallet and an anvil.

I would like to know also, my riding bud just got an 98 XR250 and it has a dent in the front rim.

We were thinking of using a piece of wood and a hammer

I had a bit of a dent recently too  The front was almost as bad...

Took it to Jim @ Camden Haven Motorcycles (Laurieton) and he fixed it up. The front now perfect, the rear not as good as new but good enough.
