2001 VOR 503 MX Connecting rod bearing failure

Recommended Posts

After three years of perfect running I have my first problem. My son was riding and heard a little knocking sound. So we called it a day and went home to tear it down and found the big end bearing on the connecting rod gone. My question is can the crank be pressed apart and new bearing and connecting be replaced or do i need a whole new crank. This bike has been the most dependable bike I have ever owned. It has about 100 hours or more of hard use

We do have the rod ,pin and rod bearing in stock at this time,as well as the crank seals, main bearings ,and all the gaskets that you will need.the vor crank is a stuborn one to press apart.my suggestion would be to take the whole crankshaft assy to a qualified machine shop and have them press it appart ,rebuild it, and true it.it must be balanced properly as we usually are able to get lower motor vibration than when the bike was new.dan.
