Greased lower steering stem bearing ?

Noticed when I pulled my lower steering stem bearing to grease that the bottom of the bearing (seal or gasket) separated from the bearing casing itself. Is this a major concern? It didn't separate from the top bearing. Just want to know if when I put it back together, anything can go wrong. It seemed to fit alright.

It will be fine,, just fit it back together.. keep everything aligned when it goes back in.

I read this before and decided it's easier for me to break down the bike 20 min.to do the steering stems. Plus I like to see what's going on with my parts and it forces me to retighten nuts/bolts, etc. If I just squirted the grease in there via the zerks I'd never look at another nut again. ?
