Fork alignment after several get offs ?

Recommended Posts

Finally got to get some trail time on my bike. Had a great time but was definitely a little rusty. Went down once when front end washed out in heavy dust, medium speed. Clipped a tree at slow speed and went down hard (to me). Several more times I got caught in awkward positions after I stopped and had to lay the bike over. My Flatland Rad guards surely saved my afternoon and bike.

My question is should I loosen the fork tubes at the triple clamps and front axle so they can self align themselves and then retighten ? Everything looks okay to the naked eye, but I fear my falls had to tweak them some. Slider bearing/seal damage and binding (none apparent) are my concerns. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Scotty

If your wheel is in line with the front fender and bars I wouldn't worry about it.

Usually it takes a hard crash into something to twist the forks.
