Slime

Recommended Posts

Can it be used to repair a flat tire like fix-a-flat, (I realize you would also need an air source to reinflate the tire) or is it only used as a pre-treatment.

It sure would be alot easier than a trailside tire change

I wouldnt do it on a trailside, but it will repair flats, to some degree. The flat cant be in the sidewall, and it has to be somewhat small.

Only thing about slime is, it can choke up the valve stem and make getting air in impossible. Its happened on nearly all my bikes (motorcycle and bicycle). I dont use it anymore.

tried it about two months ago on a friends bike and it didn't work. he hasn't changed the tire yet so we don't know how big the hole was.

I like slime. With all of the cactus and mesquite here, it's almost a necessity. Works well and has saved me from having several flats. It also sealed a screw hole in the rear tire on my KLR for over a year till I finally got around to changing the tube.
