Jetting success

Thanks all for the info on rejetting my son's crf230. I managed to swap out the needle and jets in about an hour this evening. Put in a new plug too. Fired right up and I ran it around for a while. Pulls better on the top than before. Actually hit the rev limiter. Before it was flat and I would just upshift, now it pulls up to the limit.

It already had the snorkel out and a pro circuit T4 exhaust on it. Fun little bike.

Basically like yours, except 3rd clip on needle. 45 pilot and 132 main. I'm at just under 1000' altittude.

Pulled the plug after I rode it for a while and it was nice. The old plug was black because the previous owner had opened up the fuel screw more so it would idle and run on the low rpm range. He bought it for his wife and didn't care too much about high rpms. Seemed strange to me since he raced his bike. Guess he figured it wasn't worth the effort for his wife to put around.

you may want to try 4th clip with the screw out 1.5 turns. You'll get a snappier response and better midrange. With the 3rd clip the screw is out so much. 4th clip is just right. ?

my bike pulls a LITTLE harder when i removed the baffle. i just put the clip on the 4th and turned the screw out an aditional turn which is a little too much. its running a bit rich but its getting there ?
