Jumping question

Recommended Posts

Well I never jumped a bike, so should you pull in the clutch before landing or keep the clutch engaged and roll on the throttle on touch  down????????

No clutch. And when it comes to landing with the throttle on, its depends on whats after the landing, if its a straight then land with the gas on and shift up after you get your RPMs up and scream it, if its a turn right after it land with no gas and gas the back brake ready to slide into it and turn. Just a reminder, if you have a 4-stroke keep the gas steady up the take-off. Good luck

Welcome to TT, member 45,000! Wow.

The first thing that you need to do to start jumping is get Gary Semics' video on "Jumping and Whoops". Honestly, it is the best way for you to safely start getting some air and having fun at it. The second thing you should do is look back through the pages in this forum at the jumping threads. There's lots of good advice in them about how to learn to balance on the footpegs and use good throttle control to lift you up into the air basically by just your feet.

Check out the video, read some of the threads, and then work your way up a little at a time as you get the hang of the balance at takeoff. Stay safe, and have fun! -Mike-
