Air Filter Solvent

Recommended Posts

Team,

What is a good cheap cleaner to wash your air filter in? I have tried Simple Green, but it just does not seem to wash all of the oil out, no matter how much I soak, wash or rinse. When I squeeze the filter real hard after rinsing, a white goo comes out. I believe it is just the oil mixed with water. Thanks!

Justin

if it's a twin air you can use gas. they use glue that is not affected by it, and gas is a great solvent for goo. just rinse it with the garden hose and dry it.

If you are afraid that the carcingenic pansy police will ridicule you into subserviant whimpers for using it, then wear gloves.

Before I switched to NoToil.....

Dunk the foam filter in Kerosene to cut through the oil, then rinse in Simple Green & water.

Before no-toil it was just in kerosene, then hot soapy water.

Now it's cheer with colorsafe bleach, then water, then some no-toil oil.
