Questions about 125 wheels

Recommended Posts

I have a 02 ttr125L, and am looking to get a set of 17" 2.5 front and 3.5 rear excel rims from eastcoastwheels. Thing is that does anybody know if i will run into problems putting a 3.5" on the rear? Hopefully there is little or no modifications required. Cant wait to get this little ttr motarded out.

Thanks for the help

TT rocks!

I believe you need to have either the aluminum swingarm from the LE model or the BBR swingarm to fit a 3.5" rim with a 120 width tire. I have 2.5" rims on both ends on my 2001 125L and am running a 115 width Dunlop slick on the rear. I have about 3/8" tire clearance in the steel swingarm.

3/8" isnt that much space. I hope this wheel fits, im putting a 120 on the rear. This guy from bbr said i could probably bend the stock swingarm out alittle bit. Sounds crazy, but they know their stuff.

Thanks

A 120 will be really tight.

It will have to be offset just enough to clear the right side of the swingarm and the chain will still probably rub the left side of the tire.

You might pose this question over in the supermoto forum.

There's lots of folks over there that have done this.
