suspension geometry debate?

After riding my 450exc for the first time, I remember why I could never get completely comfortable on my crf250r. The "stink-bug" attitude of the Ktm is what I crave. It seems to run with it's tail up and getting all the available traction whereas the little Honda would squat and pick up the front wheel and force me to do unfun things.

I am sure this craving I have is from my 74 xr75 with Mulholland rears that were a little over an inch longer than stock. With stock front springs and the stock front tire for about 5yrs, I must have got really front wheel-dependent. I was 5'9 and 130 lbs when we sold it.

I also think the swingarm angle of the Ktm helps it drive forward but leave the front end down. And when you get on the brakes hard, it really gets down on the front as the rear suspension tops out.

Sorry for the long post, just wondering if thats why alot of people never go back to the big four once they own an orange one.
