TTR mods questions??

I'm in the market for a new bike for my son. Currnetly he rides a KX 65 for both motocross and hare scrambles. Within the next year I Want to get him a bigger bike. With the mods that are on this site will the ttr 125 be competive against a yz 85? Is the suspension on the ttr workable, or is it better to get the yz forks? Thanks...

Yz all the way. The TTR125L wont be competitive. Even after you pore lots of $ into it its still gonna be a heavy trail bike.

Dont get me wrong the TTR125L is a great bike. I am looking for one myself. But it is not a competitive MX bike. With the money you are gonna have to pore into the TTR to make it competitive you can buy and run a bone stock yz,cr,kx,rm85 and still have money left over to fully deck your kid out in the best gear money can buy.

Id go with the MX bike myself if racing is what you are gonna do with it.

yeah i'd go YZ if he's gona motocross you might be able to do ok with the TTR for scrambles but moto is a no go
