Recommended Posts

Ive had my 03klx 400  for a while and its getting hot so the first thing I want to do is check valve shims. Can you give me an idea on how to do that?(I've got the valve cover off and am ready to look)

I'm sure we can dig up some instructions for you but do yourself a big favor and get the service manual

If you run her fast near the rev limiter she runs hot. Its normal. As long as your not boiling over your good.

As far as valve shimming do a search for it. Im sure you will come up with plenty of topics that show tappet clearances and how to do it. There is a good article on pegmonkey.com I think its called also?

Get a KLX400R manual from kawasaki. Covers every DRZ for less money than any other manual.
