440 kit

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me if the 440 kit will cause vibration?

I would like to go w/the kit, cams, carb & exh. but don't want to loose the "smoothness" or reliability these things are known for.

Eddie has 2 or 3 of them and they don't mess him up any as far as I can tell it's a gear driven counter balancer. That usally makes a motor a tad heavy but so very smooth. I know even to race I wouldn't remove one off of the Suzuki. That was a very common thing done to go fast 600XR's a few years ago. It did help them revout very quickly. A good mechanic like burned put a pin in there and you would almost not miss the balancer but it wasn't nothing compared to the one on the Suzuki. Why Kawasaki doesn't use the same setup on there old KLR-650 I'll never understand. Guess they must like fixing fraggged motors. prairiedawg
