Off topic jetting question for JD

Recommended Posts

My 92 KX 250 won't idle. It is either too high or dies. Idle screw is almost all the way in. Bike is ported and overbored so stock settings are out the window. Any ideas what causes such a eratic idle and how I might fix it. Is it too lean or too rich. BTW, bike runs like a raped ape, just will not idle. Help.

Have you cleaned the carburetor?

(Pilot jet, air passages, air screw, checked the float level)

Are the reeds in good condition?

Reeds are new, Boyeson Pro reeds in a Rad valve. How do you clean those small passageways in carburators. You can't physically put anything in there. It has always seemed to me that the air screw hardly does anything.
