OT: Spark Plugs for pickup

Recommended Posts

What kind of spark plugs does everybody out there use? I have a 94 Nissan pickup that I need to give a tune up. I am hoping everybody doesn't say split fire unless they have some good reasoning behind it as I am not sold on those plugs.

I put this here hoping it will get some replies instead of in the OT forum. All that stuff seems really off topic. Flame suit on if necessary

I've worked on automotive stuff for 30 yrs....

IMHO use the oem brand and style, the reason being that rigs computer and engine was built and programmed with that style in it and if all pretty much stock should keep the same plugs.

I agree - use whatever the manual specifies or use and major name brand - Champion - AC etc.

I had a bad experience with the Splitfire plugs also. Luckly it was in the kids go-cart and was a cheap, easy fix.

Good luck to ya ...............

Use what your manual says. It should last you 40k miles.

If you use platinum plugs, it should last you the life of your 94 truck.

I use the bosch 4 tip platinum plugs. you can feel the difference and in my opinion they're worth the money. If you want they also have a 2 tip model available that is slightly cheaper.
