3k-5k' Jetting Confirmation (w/JD Kit)

For those of you in the know - on my 05 CRF250R, with the JD jet kit, without backfire screen, at 1000' i'm running 180 / stock pilot / red #5. To go to 3000'-5000', I'd just go to a 175 or so on the main and leave the rest alone, right? Or should I just leave it be? What would be the symptoms of this bike running rich (other than plug color)?

Use the #175 or #172MJ above 3000ft (screen removed) and turn the fuel screw inwards to approx. 1 1/2 turns from seated. The top-end will lose revs if the main jet is too rich along with a black, soot in the tailpipe.
