Tearing in the engine

I am about to tear into my trusty CRF450 (02) and do a complete rebuild of the top and bottom end. NO nothing went wrong, just preventative maintainance. Should I replace the connecting rod. (I have ALL the bearings which I'll be replacing) I am not sure if I need to replace the con rod or not. The rod is the original as are all the parts in the engine. :cry: :cry:

A while back, I planned on rebuilding my '02 and I was very impressed to find that the cost of rebuilding the whole engine was just over $500 using Service Honda's parts. That included the cylinder, topend, and crank/brgs. I'd do it all as long as your going to hold on to it and race it hard for at least a year. My 2 cents. :cry:
