FMF Q Jetting for my YZ250F

Recommended Posts

I've installed an FMF Q pipe on my 04 YZ250F so I'm legal in the OHV areas here in No. California. All jetting is at stock settings. There is an ugly bog (a little coughing) around 1/4 to 1/2 throttle when accelerating (in any gear) but then cleans up nicely to a strong top end. I noticed the installation instructions for the pipe did not recommend any jetting changes but on the installation instruction for the YZ450F (that I read online) they did make a recommendation. I called FMF and the guy there said he didn't think any changes were needed. The way it is running in the low to mid area tells me something is needed.

I've been riding at about 1,000 ft. with 75 degree dry weather with 91 octane premium fuel. Any information from other YZ250F owners that run an FMF Q pipe on how I can clean up this bog and improve the bottom end would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken

1/4 to 3/4 is your needle jet, you might wanna lean it out and play with your air screw.
