Setting the pilot jet

Recommended Posts

I have a 01 250F that I just recently purchased and I am trying to get in running good. I am having a hard time finding out what to set pilot screw to, at sea level. Thanks in advance for the help.

I live in central florida, roughly 120Ft above sea level and Have a 02 YZ250F. I run a 178 main, 45 Pilot, needle clip 1 below stock with the Aftermarket stuff you see below. I havn't touched my fuel screw.Hope this helps.

I am no expert but it seems to me that a 45 pilot would be too rich for central florida. your bike year is different and that could matter but not sure. I'm running a 40 up here in PA and would not think you need higher than that. If you turn your screw all the way in until seated and bike still runs strong (it should die, cause rpm's to drop or just run bad) then your pilot is too rich/big.
