Pull your shifter off

And radius the back side of it. The stock shifter has a square edge on it that will cut into the case. I dropped my bike today and the shifter sheared right threw my CFC case guard and into the case. Damn Suzuki, anyway!

Hey Burned, maybe we should have a "sticky" FAQ section with all the common questions and answers and a couple tips and tricks.

like,

are these "cracks" in my oil filter area normal?

what's a DJ, 3x3 and burned jetting?

what mods should i do first?

your favorite, does the kick starter kit for the E fit the S? and does the yosh pipe for the E fit the S?

and tips like

file your shifter down.

get rid of the deathwings

smog canister removal...

Your post motivated me to go ahead and do it on my 2005 DRZ. I have also installed the covers. Thanks for the hard-earned advice.

Second vote for the sticky.

Would've saved me from asking more than a few stupid questions (which have been answered many times before) - to everyone's credit, I received gracious, helpful answers every time.

I took mine off tonight, case already dented and scratched very badly. :cry:
