Quiet Pipe for 04 YZ 250 F-Need Suggestions

I just purchased a 04 YZ 250 F with stock pipe and some of the places we ride really require a more quiet pipe. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with some of the Q pipes? How did they affect power? Thanks for any help.

I tried a bunch of quiet pipes on my 03.

The bottom line is they are more restrictive and take some of the snap away...which is good for off-road.

I tried the Pro-circuit 496 slip on. It was too loud!

I tried the Dr D end cap with a quiet core insert. It was quiet but took away some power. It was also the lowest cost set up.

The Big Gun with quiet core was a good all around setup.

I ended up sticking with a FMF Q with a s/x power bomb header. It passes the 96 test at races and makes good low end torque.

I just bought the FMF Q. I was running uncorked stock exhaust on WR250. I will ride this weekend and let you know what I think.

I am not impressed with my Q. after about 3 months it is now louder than stock, heavier, and less powerfull. It needs a repack I guess.

Much cheaper than a Q and in the long run more effective is the DR D spark arrestor end cap (99.00) + the Dr D quiet core insert (40.00)

I wish i had done it that way first time.

PS I will sell you my Q muffler from YZ 250F 04 for 175.00 + shipping. It will need a repack (24.00)

I have the CRD pipe but I don't think it's any better than the Yamaha OEM GYT-R Insert. Both are very quiet.
