YZ250F James Dean jetting

Recommended Posts

I installed the JD kit on my 04 YZ250F.Now when I give about 1/8 throttle the rpms go up fast and there is a delay of the rpms decreasing when I let off the throttle. If I give more than 1/8 throttle the bike will die.I have the fuel mixture screw about 1 3/4 turns out. What is the problem? Do I need to turn the mixture screw in a little? Please help.Thanks.

The condition sounds lean, which is not a common result. If the slide were

removed, the slide plate might be upside-down (a common mistake). Otherwise,

I would suggest warming the bike up more to check, looking for possible air

leaks.

Try 2 1/4 turns out on the fuel screw to richen and compare how it runs.

Next, try the red marked needle in the 5th from top clip position. This

would be a more common CRF250R setting than YZ.

James
