I think the actual '05 Yamaha is a little more trick, as it not only is aluminum framed but quite a bit lighter than the Honda. ?

Actually it looks pretty cool, I do at least admire your work. Now for your next project. Find a Liquid Cooled Can-Am from about 1985 and put that on an aluminum Honda frame and running gear. Then I would really be impressed. ? :cry: ?

With all due respect, I think that if Yamaha or any manufacturer wanted to trump the rest, they would just jump right into carbon fiber. I mean if a bicycle builder in Wis. can hand build and sell thousands of them at a reasonable price (Trek), and it is being manufactured in small cottage industries making everything from boot soles to disk guards, what's up with not having any motorcycle frames?

Sure, there would be a few years of development work, but carbon fiber is a far superior frame building material than aluminum, given the ease at which the composites can be varied. The economies of scale would knock the price down soon enough, and you know that they would sell everyone made.

A well tuned human puts out under 1 hp.

A clapped out YZ450 will put out a whole lot more.
