Flywheel Weight and Engine Stalling with Heavy Braking

Recommended Posts

I find when I lock the rear brake on my 250X I frequently stall the engine. You know the times you're riding way over your head down a tight trail and all of a sudden there's a tight 90 degree turn? You get on the brakes hard and pull in the clutch, but, too late, the engine has stopped. Anyone else notice this or is it just me? Anyone know of a heavier flywheel available?

I have to admit the idle is set as low as it will go. If I can alleviate the problem by just adjusting idle speed, then that will be an easy fix. Good suggestion. Thanks

I put on the " Stealy" 11oz flywheel weight and set the idle up to help correct the problem. But I am buying the "Z-start" to make it even better in the technical sections. 14-50 gearing.
