Which tire for all-round use?

Recommended Posts

Have a Suzuki DR-Z 400 E since the beginning of this year and made it street legal (in Belgium). I bought it (and I like it) because of its all-round capabilities and use it 70% on the road and for the rest mainly on off-road trails. I have currently Metzler Sahara tires on it and am quite pleased with their overall behaviour.

Any other suggestions?

Guido

I use Dunlap 606's. I ride the street 80% of the time (work)and as long as the road is'nt wet they stick fine.

I got 2500 miles out of my last rear tire and the front's still o.k. though I plan on replacing it when my new rear wear's down again.

Im not a real agresive rider in the dirt and I did'nt notice the rear tire geting slippery till about 2000 miles. It was still ok for the street when I changed it at 2500.

I've spoken with more agressive riders about wear and they change them at about 900 miles.

If you run a more street friendly tire like the trail wing's it WILL be slippery in the dirt.

Good luck!
