Winter storage procedures?

Recommended Posts

I will likely not ride my X much this winter. Can someone give me a complete list of what I should do prior to storing? Gas stabilizer or drain tank, etc?

gas stabilizer, make sure yo urun it so that it gets into the carb... also throw a battery tender on your battery... dont forget to put your bike on a stand so your tires dont get flat spots.

I know a guy that works at a lab that does testing on engines and new oils. He says tests show not to leave the old contaminated oil in all winter change your oil before storage.

The owners manual has a complete program to put your bike away for the winter. I do it every year. I always drain the gas out of the bike, run the carb dry, put in fresh oil, make sure radiator is protected to sub temps, lift bike off of the ground, and out a teaspoon of oil in the top, then put spark plug back in. Cover your exhaust end too with baggie or wash plug.

What is "winterized"?

Hey, your snow is a lot whiter than the snow here in Arizona!

Your trees look funny, too.
