JD Jetting Kit; 172 main a problem?

Recommended Posts

I bought the JD jetting kit for my '05 450 EXC. The kit recommended--and comes with--a 172 main. The stock main is a 178. Is it OK to go down (lean) this far? Does the new needle richen things up that much? What about at full throttle when the needle is not so much a factor? For the record, the bike ran quite well with the 178.

Riding conditions are sea level to about 3000', with temp. in the 60-80 F range.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jeff

Second that. Months of screwing around and experimenting with unsatisfactory results were solved instantly with JD's jet kit. JD is GOD 😢
