Cam Tensioner Replacement?

Recommended Posts

I thought I read on TT (but can't find the post) recently that you can replace the cam tensioner without having to disaasemble the engine. Anyone have experience doing this and is it possile? I had the unfortunate luck of stripping the screw out to the cam tensioner and now need to replace the entire unit.

If you are talking about the external cast aluminum can chain tensioning device then yes if can easily be remove with just a couple of bolts. If you speak of the internal cam chain guides the rear one can be removed by takeing off the left engine cover and probably the flywheel, the front one can only be removed by takeing off the cylinder head, hope this helps.cheers
