WR250f Non JD jetting 1000' to 5000'

Recommended Posts

Knew something was off with my jetting, but hadn't ridden above ~1500'. Yesterday went on a good ride starting at 1400 and as I approached 4000 bike ran like CRAP! Would bog and miss in low rpm/under 1/2 throttle. If I kept it in the revs it did better.

Currently stock (canadian) jetting. Any suggestions?

Drop your needle one position (raise the clip) and adjust your fuel screw inwards in 1/4 turn increments, until it cleans up.

What size main jet are your running, and what mods have you made to the exhaust, air box, etc.?

Got 2 1" holes in side of airbox, FMF Q pipe.

Tried messing with the fuel screw, did not help in the least... Went a half a turn in both directions.

I'll try dropping the needle next time, but don't think that's the solution (hmm, unless the main was kicking in too soon and contributing to a already rich pilot circuit...)

But even still, adjusting the needle won't cure the overall problem since above 1/2 throttle was pretty good (not perfect, but pretty good)
