Street Legal in Ca

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if a KLX 300 can be made sreet leagl in Ca? If so what does it take, do they make you put DOT approved tires on? Any advise would be appreciated. Don't plan on running on street, just a safety measure for crossing or a short run down the street.

LAST I NEW AS OF JAN 1,2004 YOU CANNOT MAKE A DIRT BIKE STREET LEGAL ANY MORE :exuse

Of course there are loopholes, you could street register it in nevada if you have any friends there and then when you title it back to yourself in CA, just make sure you say it has at least 7500 miles (any less and it will lose its registration, and they have no way to check since there is no odometer). And to your other question, yes you would need dot approved tires, horn, turn signals front and back, taillight, brakelight, headlight with hi and low beams, and a battery.

Hope this helps,

Kevin
