No Compression

Recommended Posts

After riding my bike in the woods fairly hard for a couple hours I stopped for a break. Then I went to start it, and NO compression. I checked the decompression lever and it seemed okay, I tried a few more times with nothing. I then decided to push start it. It did not start, but the compression came back. That was a few weeks ago and it still runs great, however I am close to going on a 4 day ride and don't want any issues...should I get this checked out? Or does this just happen from time to time?

i have never heard of that before and its never happened to me

if your riding in the woods was it geting very hot?

how old is your engine?

if its worn out and overheats then some parts ie decomp plug may leak due to expansion check arround the head to see if any dust has collected if so the engine might be leaking

thats my only idea hope it helps

Check your valve clearances. Odds are your intakes have gone tight on you. It shows up after the valves expand from heat and lift themselves off the seats.

Ditto.
