XR50 CDI BOX QUESTION

Recommended Posts

I talked to someone else who has a xr50 and they said that theirs also ran crappy until they changed the cdi box. They said something that made me think the new one let the engine rev higher, so is this cdi box a rev limiter box? Can anyone tell me what it does and maybe how much it costs?

LOKI A REV BOX WILL REV HIGHER BUT MAKES NO MORE HP. IN TIME YOUR VALVES WILL FLOAT AND SPRINGS WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED

If your motor is stock there is no need for one. But a bike with a 88 kit really needs one to perform at its full potential.

If you race the bike, a rev box will allow you to hold each gear just a tad longer. It raises the rev limit an extra 500 rpms. A must for all big bore kits!

It raises it more than 500rpm's, it totally eliminates the rev limiter, allowing the bike to turn as many rpm's as it wants and can. Mines turns 12,000 easy.
