Hi drz'ers. My first post here, great site. Bought an '01 drz couple months ago, like it a lot. Been riding Basalt Mountain, Rifle, Grand Junction, and down the road to my girlfriends house.

I bent my bars in Grand Junction yesterday, ouch  . What are good aftermarket bars? Was looking at these but not sure about the bend etc.. I'm 6'.

Also is there a good site/source for oem parts? I need some fasteners (exhaust, seat) and headlight mount, possibly some other stuff once I start digging in.

Cheers,

Dustin

www.ronayers.com - cheaper then dealers & has a cool fiche system.

Welcome to the group.

Thanks for the site! Another newbie question. What is the difference between the 400E 400S and the k1-k4 stuff?

E is the offroad version, better FCR carb but shares most of the same stuff.

K is the kicker version of the E, no starter, but still very similar.

S is the street version of the E, blinkers, horn, fan, brake light, etc.

I assume you have an 01 S if its street legal, although you could

have a converted E, if so you have the better carb. The 01 S has

the same susp. as the E but the 00 S doesnt.

Yeah you got a converted E, congrats, you have more power then the S.

Man you sure did tweak your bars, hope you didnt get hurt on that one.

Nice place you got there man, must be a ton of riding very close.

I like the panorama shot on your site.

Check here for your bars... http://shop.thumpertalk.com/Catalogs.asp?pdf=WB_OR_Controls&Page=9

I bought the Button bend and I love them, but everyone is different. So get what feels comfortable to you.

As for the fasteners, do you have a local Fastenal? They have any and everything.

clk748,

I didn't see the Button bend in a bar listed for a DR-Z 400. Which TT part number did you order?

Thanks,

Tony
