I liked the USA's MXDN results...

Recommended Posts

I'm sorry, but why didnt the US send a team to MXDN? Oh wait, we couldn't find the top pro's that wanted to ride. Why do we have to send paid pros to that race? Why can't we send some of our nations really fast ametuers? So the big names were busy with other stuff, and we don't send ANYONE? That shows the world we are really confidant in like 5 people. I know at least 5-10 local guys that would have at least gave them a run for the money, not to mention what the rest of the country could have contributed. I think that we should have had a race for several top guys and sent the top guys from that race. So they don't have factory backing, at least we would have had a team to represent us. And what about some of the other guys in the nationals this year? Jaoquim Rodriguez(spelling?) would have been a great person for us to send(if elligable for the US team). There was a lot of over looked talent and I think the guys incharge need to feel guilty about wasting this year's effort. Now the US looks like a bunch of &%$#@! for not sending anybody. Oh well, what can we do?

The AMA has brought shame on the USA again in MXDN.

The spirit and pride of racing has been replaced with the all mighty dollar.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees it that way. It really was a sad showing for the US, the really bad part is MXDN is to motocross as the olympics are to gymnastics. I think the US needs to appoint someone other than the AMA to run that show. It's sad to say that about the AMA, after they try to keep stuff open for us. But someone needs to take responsibility.

After reading a recent Racerxill.com article I doubt the United States will be at the MXDN in 2005 as well. There is to much on our plate already as far as the race and testing schedule goes.

perhapse the time is coming when there should be a new alternative sanctioning body. why should all pro racing be controlled by the ama? the sport is big enough now to have two seperate sanctioning bodies. i say we start a new, more grass-roots association whose goals, and the goals of the participants, aren't solely based on money.. and more focused on racing, and even better, exclusive to MX. call it the ABMX (American Brotherhood of Motocross)

yeah, i know that name sorta excludes chicks.. but who really cares?

Yeah it would be good to have another sanctioning body. I don't think the women need to be excluded though. It should be equal opportunity.

well i'm sure there can be an American Sisterhood of Motocross too. like the WNBA is to the NBA.. kinda like a slower, less exciting girl-version of the real thing.

Well if you want you can put up 50,000$ to cover the costs of sending one rider over.

If Ricky, James, and the rest of the crew don't want to go, then send the next tier of riders. I'm more then sure that some of the "lesser" riders would well represent the USA. On top of that they would be thrilled by the experience. By the way, I noticed the results were by country, not sanctioning body. The race is for our country; USA, not AMA!

We could have had a team. Read here.

I know someone with the AMA reads this forum, but I never got a call.

Guess they don't want a patriot wavin' a flag...

Oh well, there's still next year!
