fork seals

ok guys i have a 04 yz 250f and i wont be back on the bike untill nov 1st. i only race motocross with it so i dont no how many more times im going to be riding it this season but anyway my one fork seal is leaking pretty bad and the other one just started to make a real slow leak. i dont want to replace them untill winter when i send them out to F/C so is there a quick fix i can do so i can ride the bike four or five times more untill winter. thanks mike

one thing you can do is get some 35mm camera negatives, and slide them up underneath the seals. that will loosen any dirt that may be in the seal keeping it from sealing good. i did that on my bike, and my seal doesn't leak anymore. :cry:

thanks a lot guys ill try both ways.

Cleaning the seals with film works, but you run a risk of damaging the lips and if you have to clean the lips out of your seals because they are leaking, then think of what has passed the lip to get on the inside. You guessed it, dirt and water.

There is a third way, just look around :cry:
