Whats the carb adjustments for high elevation on 2002 WR426?

Recommended Posts

I bought a 2002 WR426 in Ohio and now I live in Colorado at just under 5000' feet. What all do I need to do to get this bike to run like it should at this elevation and higher? Thanks so much for the replies!

According to an Excel jetting list I found somewhere on this site..... at 70 F you need a 154 main jet, clip 3 from the top, and a 40 pilot jet.

On the top of this sheet it says stock bike. If you have a better pipe or air filter you may have to go richer. stock

STP main jet: 162

STP needle clip: 4

STP pilot jet: 42

I ride at 4000ft. to about 7500ft. useing stock air and fuel jets with only changing the main to a 162, needle is at clip #4. I have no bog and all the power I can handle. Plug is a light tan. At 7000ft., I could use a 160 main and sometimes install it if I'm going to be there overnight.

2001 WR426 with a Wiseco 13 to 1 piston, WR timed, 91 octane gas. Good Luck.

By the way I grew up in La Grange Ohio. Hear of it?
